"My 1982 Honda 900f broke down during a terrible storm near the entrance to Devil's Lake. I waited 3 hours and paid an ENORMOUS amount for a 12 minute tow to Baraboo, where I stayed overnight in desperation. Beaver Dam was the nearest Honda certified dealer and I called them at 8:03am explaining my situation. While on the phone I was reassured with a friendly demeanor and given a very reasonable estimate for towing, and was told they would do whatever possible to get me back on the road ASAP.
I barely had time to finish breakfast before a fully enclosed trailer arrived to take me and my bike to their shop where they began working on my bike immediately. The problem was identified and parts were replaced (some free of charge, because the parts could not be sold "as new") in a very timely manner, and I was back on the road by 1:00pm!
I am amazed that parts and emergency service were available in such a reasonable and timely fashion for my vintage Honda. The people working at beaver Damn Honda and Kawasaki took care of me and had me enjoying the ride (and forgetting my breakdown) faster than I believed possible. I wish my local dealer was this good.
